Twitter Leads Social Media Sharing Growth

Analysis by Unruly Media indicates that from its inception until now, shares on Twitter grew an astounding 35,356%. This was more than six times the 5,809% growth in Facebook Likes. Read more »

Men More Frequent Social Shoppers

performics-online-tools-and-shopping-habits-men-v-women-oct11.gifMen are more likely than women to frequently perform five of 6 key social shopping activities, according to a study released in October 2011 by Performics and conducted by ROI Research. Data from the 2011 Social Shopping Study indicates that among participants who use social networks at least occasionally during the shopping process, men (62%) are 24% more likely than women (50%) to use a shopping site to compare a product at least once a week, and 37% more likely to use a deal site to perform the same activity with that frequency. Men (57%) are also about 43% more likely to frequently use deal sites to research product information than women (40%). Read more »

US Business Elite Keep it Traditional

ipsos-average-issue-readership-of-publications-oct11.gifAmerica's most successful and influential business leaders are not yet replacing traditional media with digital, although the latter is on the rise, according to a survey from Ipsos MediaCT released in October 2011. Results from the Business Elite USA survey reveal that 87% of this group still utilize print, and 82% TV on a daily basis. Among daily publication titles, the Wall Street Journal dominates in average issue readership (AIR), at 46.3%. This is 60% more than the second-ranking daily publication, USA Today, which claims an AIR of 29%. The only other daily publication to score an AIR in double digits is the New York Times (18.9%).
