Pew-Tablet-Adoption-Trends-US-Adults-Jan201444% of US online consumers owned tablets as of December 2013, up 6 points from a year earlier, according to new Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) estimates. For its part, the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project says that 42% of US adults now own a tablet, citing results from a survey [pdf] conducted early this month. Consumers’ Spending Behavior, Outlook Remain Modest

But compared to a year earlier, the December results show a similarly spending-conscious consumer; other surveys also indicate that Americans are becoming more practical in their spending behavior, with few planning to up their expenditures this year on a range of items. As Demand Grows, Retailers Said to Generate More Paid Clicks From PLAs Than Yahoo Bing

Adobe-Share-of-Paid-Search-Clicks-Jan2014Cost-per-click for Google product listing ads (PLAs) jumped by 80% year-over-year during Q4 2013, all the while maintaining a relatively steady ROI, according to an Adobe Digital Index analysis of almost 7 billion paid clicks. It's the latest data set to show a rapid rise for PLAs, which Adobe says now generate more paid search clicks than Yahoo Bing for some retailers. Read more »

Millionaires per Capita: Which States Have the Most – and the Fewest?

But those per capita figures varied widely from one state to the next, with the top state by this measure having more than twice as many millionaires per capita as the bottom state. Social Networks Play A Leading Role in Online Video Discovery

Yahoo posed the question to 1,775 consumers aged 16-44 who watch online video at least several times a week, finding that almost 8 in 10 find videos through social means, with 50% finding them through their social network and 45% from word-of-mouth. Mobile Now A Majority of Facebook’s Ad Revenues
