The South Rises in Frugality

The South leads all US regions in online coupon usage. More than one-third of the top 20 frugal cities are in the Southern region of the US. In addition to Atlanta and Tampa, other Southern cities on the list include Charlotte, NC (#6), Nashville, TN (#7), Raleigh, NC (#10), Oklahoma City, OK (#13), Miami, FL (#13) and Dallas, TX (#14).

Ohio, NC Most Frugal States

Once again, Ohio is the country’s most frugal state. The Buckeye state is represented three times on the “Most Frugal US Cities” list – Cincinnati (#3), Cleveland (#8) and Columbus (#19). North Carolina is Ohio’s biggest challenger, climbing the penny-pinching ladder with two cities in the top 10: Charlotte and Raleigh.

West Coast, Northeast Least Frugal

On the other extreme end of regional online coupon usage, Seattle, WA (#18) is the only city on the West Coast that made the cut. The Northeast is only represented by Boston, MA (#16).
