CC's Online Stations Hit High in Summer Months

Clear Channel Radio’s online unit has been having a strong summer: On-demand plays for the most recent week measured reached seven million, an increase of over two million in just five weeks and a 29% increase over its 12-week average, writes MediaBuyerPlanner.

Compared to the online radio universe, including AOL, Yahoo, and MySpace, etc., Clear Channel’s online radio stations had the most webpage views per visitor. Yahoo Music had the most monthly unique visitors, followed by MySpace Music, AOL Music and Clear Channel.

Clear Channel was second to Live365.com in most minutes per visitor (not including streaming time). Yahoo Music was third, followed by AOL Music.

As for unique weekly listeners (streaming), Yahoo’s LAUNCHcast had the most, with AOL and Clear Channel following.

Clear Channel increased its weekly listenership 342% from January 2005 to June 2007, while AOL dropped 28% and LAUNCHcast grew 3%.
