Mobile Perceived as Most Disruptive Media and Marketing Trend

2012 A Busy Year For Marketing Services & Tech Sector M&A

JEGI-Media-Marketing-Tech-M&A-in2012-Jan2013Merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in the marketing services and technology sector saw strong growth in 2012, according to a new report from The Jordan, Edmiston Group (JEGI). There were 458 announced transactions during the year for a total value of more than $20 billion, highlighted by Nielsen's acquisition of Arbitron Research for $1.2 billion. The number of deals in the marketing services and tech sector grew by 67% year-over-year and the dollar value of those deals increased by 36%. Read more »

Big life changes for consumers mean big opportunities for marketers, according to results from studies by Epsilon and Zillow, which show consumers to be open with their spending and loyalties while moving house. And transitional periods don't only provide opportunities for consumer-focused marketers, they can also prove lucrative to B2B marketers, with a BizBuySell.com study finding that during a small business sale process, a significant proportion of buyers and sellers increase their spending on products and services.
