Consumers answer if the events of 2020 (e.g., COVID-19, the election, social unrest) persuaded them to stop purchasing from a brand for any of the following reasons:

  • “I reduced my spending due to changes in my financial situation”
  • “Quarantine restrictions made it difficult to access the brand’s products or services”
  • “I did not agree with the brand’s stance on societal events”
  • “The brand was sold out”
  • “I no longer had a need for the brand’s products and services”

The chart includes about a half of respondents who indicated that they did not stop purchasing any brands.
