    Notes: Facebook’s mobile ad revenues grew by 74% year-over-year in Q2 to represent an impressive 76% share of the social network’s total ad revenues. To put that figure in perspective, just 2 years ago (in Q2 2013), mobile captured less than one-quarter (23%) of Facebook’s ad revenues. Having effectively transitioned to a mobile-first company, the social network has set its sights on video, per the Q2 earnings transcript.

    Looking at various metrics from the earnings release:

    • Daily active users numbered 968 million in Q2, representing 65% of the company’s 1.49 billion monthly active users. The number of daily active users looks set to hit or nearly hit 1 billion this quarter;
    • Among Facebook’s 1.49 billion monthly active users, 88% accessed the platform via mobile, while of its 968 million daily active users, 87% accessed via mobile;
    • Almost 44% of Facebook’s monthly active users were mobile-only, up from 40% a quarter earlier; and
    • Total advertising revenue increased by 43% year-over-year to slightly more than $3.8 billion.
